Introducing Frankie Cotton

Who is Frankie Cotton?

Frankie Cotton is an entrepreneur and co-host of the ‘Bossing It’ podcast, recently founding Found & Flourish, a network for women entrepreneurs, and The Sustainable Marketplace, an ecommerce platform empowering busy people to buy more sustainably.

A former Global Marketing Director and Consultant for technology brands, Frankie is focused on the power of intelligent branding with effective digital marketing to drive business growth. Frankie consults on strategic marketing.

Frankie is passionate about combining profit with purpose. Her commercial ventures have a strong mission and associated values. As entrepreneurs, we have the power to make a positive difference in the world.

Why do you do what you do?

I truly believe that, it is not only possible to combine profit with purpose, but it is essential if we’re to make strides toward reversing humanity’s environmental impact and cultivating equal opportunity for people in the workplace. I want The Sustainable Marketplace to make a positive impact toward overhauling the retail sector to reduce waste and move to circular economy practices, whilst providing consumers with innovative products that enhance their lifestyle.

Where is your happy place?

My happy place is a long walk along the South Bank with my husband and dog before the rest of London wakes up.

What's the best part of your job?

The best part of my job is choosing who to work with. Businesses are essentially groups of people on a united mission, and as founder and CEO, I’m able to choose who to align myself with based on shared values. I love working with really talented and motivated people who can bring their skills and experience to The Sustainable Marketplace. It’s so exciting to see what they can do

What's the worst part of your job?

Certainly the hardest part of my job is managing my mental health and trying to look after myself amongst the demands of startup life for a founder. The work never stops, and you never switch off. But you have to proactively prioritise rest and downtime. I’m terrible at this. My habit loop is to keep working at 100mph until I inevitably drop. But I’m working on it!
